Joining Blogland

Hey Everyone...

I've been reading all the nice blogs of the ladies from church, and have been thinking about starting one of these and finally decided to give it a go. I guess to start out I'll explain the blog a little.

URL: 77thpsalm. Yes, I did "steal" Mrs. Karen's Bible passage idea, but only after all my other choices were taken. I even tried to arrange Psalm 77 in numerous ways, but they, too, were taken. Psalm 77 has been a very encouraging scripture to me over the last 6 months or so. It encourages me to see all that God has done for me in the past, so that when times get tough I can trust He won't keep silent (even when it appears He is).

Title: Homeward Bound. I was clueless about what to put as a title, but it wasn't optional, so I needed to put something. What came to my mind was heaven (not sure why) and as a Christian, I like to think of home as heaven. And, one day I'll be in heaven, so, I guess you can say I'm "Homeward Bound". (It has nothing to do with the movie.)

Purpose of Blog: I'm a quotes girl so I may post quotes I read online, in books, or in the Bible. I may ask questions for discussion. If you want to laugh, don't come here. If you want a story, you probably won't find it here. I must admit I'm doing this for a selfish reason- to get the thoughts and opinions of wiser, and more mature (particularly spiritually mature) adults.

Well that was a really long first post, hopefully they'll be shorter in the future.

Welcome to Blogland, sweetie! I was wondering when you'd jump on board! You are such a good writer and thoughtful person. What about Psalm 77 has been encouraging to you? Oh, I had to laugh when I saw your blog name, "Homeward Bound" is SUCH a Sarah movie! (For those who have seen the movie, you remember when the old dog returns home and sees the 12 year old boy. Well, whenever Shadow (the old dog) says, 'Oh, Peter." Sarah always melted into tears. To tease her, Sarah's brothers could just walk up to her on a fine, happy day
and say, "Oh, Peter" and she'd well up. Then she'd smack them and say, "Mom, tell them to STOP!"
But in all seriousness, I am glad to see your mind set on things above, that heaven is our ultimate home. Love you!

Sarah, I will look forward to reading your thought. I LOVE quotes, and used to search the internet for hours looking for good ones to write in cards. I can't wait to see what you post!

Welcome to the Wide World of Blogging! Don't worry about the length of your posts. Some people write realllllllllyyyyyyyy long posts and some write really short ones. Just go with whatever hits you. Sometimes it only takes a few words to get a point/idea across, other times it takes many. I tend to be in the latter category myself lol. God bless!
