Something funny

I always hate to post anything funny, because I'm easily amused and sometimes, well, things I find funny aren't the least bit funny to others and it's a little embarrassing to actually laugh at something that's not funny to anyone else.

But anyway, most of you probably don't know that my mom sometimes talks in her sleep. In Russia I happened to wake up in the middle of the night, feeling horrible (I was pretty sick for about a day and a half). It was fairly quiet and then my mom, in her sleep, incoherently begins "talking." It was really a strange babble, and something I can't write. The noise is one that could only be done in person. Sorry. That was one of the few times I've heard my mom say anything in her sleep. Anyway, that leads up to tonight.

My mom fell asleep on the sofa in the same room. I was playing a game with Joel on the computer and all of a sudden we hear, "What color is the pizza?" Yes, mom was talking in her sleep. There was nothing more to what she said. Well, I started laughing, which made Joel start giggling, and before we knew it, we both lost it. We were doubled over. As light a sleeper as she is, I can't believe our laughing two feet from her ear did not wake her up.

The End. Good night.

P.s. If you didn't laugh, that's okay. I'll never know. And I know some stories like this are "had to be there" jokes. Another reason I don't usually post funnies. Plus, I think God used her sleep talking to make me laugh, knowing I needed a good laugh to relieve some of the sadness I've had ever since getting back.

LA talks in his sleep sometimes, too. I always try to keep him going by having a conversation with him, but he usually ends up waking up. :) It is funny though.

Thanks, Sarah. Glad to amuse you and whoever else reads this.

Truth be told, I remember saying something that woke me up but didn't let you see my open eyes. I heard you and Joel laughing your heads off. It was all I could do not to laugh under the blanket. I'm good, huh?

One of these nights I'm gonna record you as YOU fall off to sleep. You sort of moan and smack your lips. Seldom talk, so I can't converse witcha.

Oh, I'm laughing, absolutely!

I'm a sleep talker too. Sometimes it's intelligible. Sometimes, well... :)

I thought that was funny. Thanks for sharing. I loved the stories and pictures. Loved the "toilet" picture. I remember trying to use one of those "holes in the floor" in China. I had to lean up against the wall to keep my balance... Problem was my arms were sweaty and I started to slip and fall... it became pretty comical... :)

Ignore mom's comment. I'm twisting her words, but basically she just said all that but the truth was she was sound asleep. She had no idea, because when Joel told her the next morning what she said in her sleep, she was genuinely unaware of what took place in her sleep the night before. Good try mom, but you were sound asleep and there's no denying it! ;)

Tori, I can imagine how hard it would be to use that toilet with sweaty arms. I really didn't at all mind using it, but I bet it would be quite hard (and funny) to use it while sweating.
